This trial is going to have probably the largest affect on Immigration to North America in the last fifty years.

Here is a Canadian of Pakistani origin who beacme an Immigration Consultant who just might have been behind the Mumbai attacks, the Danish Cartoonist in Denmark and bringing in some not very nice people to USA and Canada.
What is far worse is that cohorts claim that the Mumbai attack was financed with $25,000 provided by Pakistan´s spy agency.
Currently Nairobi, Kenya and Abu Dhabi - United Arab Emirates are the only two visa posts that have longer processing times for Spousal Sponsorship applications. If any of the allegations are found to be true I would suspect that Pakistani processing times for every application will double or triple.
I feel sorry for those involved in real marriages that are in process!
If the Pakistani intellegence service is found to be involved how will any country be able to accept any security certificate from Pakistani Officials?

Roy, any indications what is happening to files being processed in Libya and Syria? Are the embassies on skeleton staff?

would it stand to reason that in some of these areas that only the most urgent applications are being processed?
I don´t even know what ´urgent´ might mean... spousal, work permits type of thing.
I am surprised there is nothing on the CIC website that is letting people know that all bets are likely off for processing times in some of these areas.

I got SPAM about the Quebec government pulling out their staff but nothing about any other Canadian´s being told to fly home.
Movng from Damascus, Syria to Tehran, Iran I just can´t see. Also very unlikely about going into Lebanon which could flare up overnight.
Now the air base in Islamabad, Pakistan has been attacked all we need now is Harper or Kenny opening up their mouths & putting more Canadian staff at risk.

Roy, Talibans and other assorted nut cases won´t wait for Harper or Kenny´s public declarations to go after Canadians. They are out for blood period. If they get their chances at Westerners they´ll go for it. Canadian or not.. Anything goes, IED, VBIED, BBIED, shooting, stabbing, poisoning, acid, chemical stuff, they would use nukes in no time if they could...
More people will want to leave Pakistan in a hurry that´s for sure...

The problem is that the good people of Pakistan and Syrian Visa post will now wait for ever to be approved.
Don´t forget it is a new Canadian being accused.

Ah yes Chicago. Home of world class hockey teams and terrorist trials. But seriously, Roy is right. This is strange and suspicious stuff. The defendant David Headley is a local Chicagoan who with Rana were pals with the Consul General for Pakistan in Chicago. Rana operated an immigration store front on the northwest side. The whole operation hints at Pakistani knowledge or possibly even cooperation.

Now Toronto gets mentioned and some dirt falls on my city.
The key issue is how does one confirm a new Immigrant from a failed country is squeakey clean?
Pakistan does not have quality above board security service so should Canada stopp all Immigration from Pakistan?
