Subject: Marital Status update and PR
  Hello everyone,
I have a question regarding my PR. I recently got married and the next day I got the letter from Canadian High Commission to submit my passport for PR. When I applied and through the whole process, I showed that I don´t have any dependents. I was planning to update my status. Now I only have 40 days to submit my passport. I want to find out whether it is a good idea to update my status and send my wife´s passport as well or just send my passport and apply for my wife´s visa later on.

Thanking you in anticipation,
Imran Khan.

You need to add your wife to the application as she will have to be examined in order for you to be able to file for her at a later date even if she will not be accompanying you at the time of migration. If you submit your passport & get the visa and land without doing so you will not be able to apply for her at a later date because you would be deemed as misrepresented. I suggest you inform the immigration office right away & send in any additional documents like your marriage certificate & let them instruct you further. She will have to do a medical for sure. This may delay the process somewhat but it is the right thing to do to maintain your ability to file for your wife and also not to jeopardize your own PR. - I am not an immigration person but gathered this along the way so you can wait on another answer

Spouse Visa (in reply to: Marital Status update and PR)
Dear Sir,

I got married in London, UK. My wife is from Pakistan studying in London languages a two year program. She has compeleted one year and her student visa was extended for another year and she has seven months remaining.

Should we apply visitor visa for Canada to visit me and if she gets a visa she still plans to complete her study in Englad. Does she qualify to get Canadian visitor visa.

Secondly what will be the best way to get her immigration for Canada?

I have been a Canadian citizen for over thirty years.
