Subject: CAN I SPONSOR MY 29 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER?

I am a permanent resident, 65 years old and was sponsored by my eldest daughter to come here in Canada. I still have my youngest daughter living in our Home town. She is Single and 29 years old.

My question is, As a parent, can I still sponsor my daughter even if she is already 29 years of age? I do not have work either and only staying in my eldest daughter´s house.

I will appreciate your responses and any suggestions you may give. Thanks.

No, she would have to immigrate on her own merits if she meets the criteria.

You might be able to help adding extra points to her application for having family in Canada but that is about it.

I hope you included her in your PR application.

the chances of you getting a visitors visa to come to Canada are probably very small. Not only that... getting married, and then sponsoring you from with in Canada is not only risky, but takes forever. For a large part of the wait, you would not be eligible to work. It is a very poor suggestion.

If this guy loves you, he needs to do some immigration homework. The best route for success is

1) he travels to Pakistan and you get married
2) he returns to Canada and begins sponsorship. you will be apart 6-8 months

Hi Sai, they say that you cannot sponsor your brother/sister if he/she is above 18 years old?

Sai,

Read the post! He is not talking about a spouse, it´s his daughter.

And NO his older daughter cannot sponsor his younger daughter. Read the process and manuals.

my spouse daughter from another woman (in reply to: CAN I SPONSOR MY 29 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER?)
Hi, looking for a suggestion this is rather complicated case...So, before I met my spouse here, he has fathered a daughter back home. My spouse lost contact with the mother but somehow this child was able to track down my spouse via facebook. so make the long story short, they are now communicating, the whole family here knows about her and would like to bring her over to Canada from the Philippines.
Here´s the problem: when Sally was born, her biological mother had given her up for adoption (according to Sally, there was no formal adoption papers done) but the problem is the woman who adopted her (but not legally) has name her after her. Sally´s birth certificate does not show my spouse as the biological father but instead the adopted parent´s name are showing. I am preparing all the paper works, she will be turning 20 yrs old in September. Do we have a chance to bring her over if my spouse and myself sponsor her? Any suggestions?
Thank you...waiting for a suggestion or if anyone has gone thru the same situation as this before.

Jodie
