Hello.
I posted the PR renewal app in Jan 2011. Per web site the processing time is valid for Sep 10, 2010 .. and tried to call == Call Centre telephone number: 1-888-242‑2100 and there is no answer .. tried several times in last 3 days..
anyone has an idea whats the other method toc heck if they received ur app ? web site does not provide search results when used ..
if the new card is expected in next 4 - 5 months .. can one still enter canada with the expired PR card or one needs a visitors visa again .
pls advise ..

always send registered mail to CIC or any other Government office. Just relax and wait!!!!!!!!!!!

Well i Sent the post from US .. so there was no confirmation that comes back from Canada .. would register post help check status on the usps website ?? did not know that .. or could hv used Fedex ..but USPS is quiet reliable .. and previous packes hv reached..
So Jeff .. the timeline is accurate then ? and what abt if I need to visit with an expired PR card ?

Jura,
I am also in US and would like to file for PR renewal. How did u get the renew form and how manay days before i can apply for renewal before my existing PR card expires.
Could you please help out here.

The form is on the website .. and the instructions guide as well .. "http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/prcard.asp".
You can pay the application fees online .. and get a receipt (PDF) copy in email.
But there is one form "IMM 5455" of which original copy is needed and u can order it online. There is no charge for this one so u can get more than one copy (play safe). This form needs a photo attached and the signature in little white box.
I would suggest put in ur app ASAP .. as i was not aware of the application timelines.. mine expires soon so hope to get a call from CIC soon to collect the new crad.

Thanks Jura. My card is expering on sep 25, 2011. Is it ok to apply now. Will they accept my application for renewal.

Yes they will.. no issues in sending ahead of time ..hold on to ur current card though .
