Subject: Refugee Law Reform in March 2011...?
  hi,

I just learned that new rules on refugee/asylum law are coming into life in March 2011. Is that true that every refugee will be given decission on his claim within maximum 2-month period ? Does it mean for refugee to book return ticket for about 60 days from arrival date to avoid possible deportation cost? Does it mean that refugee will have to spend only 2 months in detention center or refugee housing institution ?
Does it mean that the failed refugee will be sent back home within 2 months after making a claim if failed? Please explain the reform.

thank you

there are no answers to your questions. The legislation is not passed, there could still be changes, and there could very well be an election before then and the rule changes may be put on hold.

chill for now

...would come into effect in the next 12 to 18 months, following royal assent.
