Subject: Conviction->Pending Trial->Deportation
  Hello, for the past two years I have met a lovely man fallen in love and been through a lot of stress. After two months of dating he was arrested and convinced to take a plea bargin of two years for a loaded hand gun. Since then, we have unexpectedly discovered that the weapon was linked to three attempted murders. The ironic thing is that the gun never belonged to him in the first place. However, with the pending 8 day trial that will take place this April (that his lawyer said we can beat), he was then served with a deportation notice.

My heart is breaking and I need to know his chances of staying in Canada.

He was born in Somalia where three of his siblings, grandparents, two uncles and more family were all shot or bombed from the civil war. He then spent the rest of his remaining childhood, 11 years, in a refugee camp in Kenya. What was left of his family: his mom, his two sisters, and his brother all came to Canada as landed immigrants (they didn´t know what Canada was).

Basically, I am asking if we as Canadians would send this man back to a third world country where his chances of living are a guarenteed 0%? He has a meeting on February 2nd with Canadian immigration where they will serve him with the deportation papers and he will have an opportunity to state his opinion as to why they should appeal the case.

Please, can somebody tell me what to honestly expect?

He is going to be caught in the black nasty hole between the supreme court and CBSA".

This is crap. I am not going there.

Now assuming that he is found guilty, yes he will serve his time in the can and then he will be send back to his home country.

To be accepted as Convention Refugee in Canada is no bullet proof for getting removed from Canada based on criminal convictions.

A wrong date who feels empowered by carrying such an item. (it gives a sense of control and power, doesn´t it? Yes, I believe that it is never yours.)

Someone´s been hangin´ around with the wrong crowd.

So how did he get Landed?

How did he get served with a deportation order?

Why would he get ordered deported for being charged instead of convicted???????

Lets say he was telling the truth to you yet you have no details.

I thought there are no removals to Somalia at all.
