Subject: Translation of Documents
Hello,

To apply for permanent residence under the Federal Skilled Worker program (not the Quebec one), do all documents have to be translated into English only?

To apply from the United States (Buffalo), would French translations be accepted?

Thank you,

Amin

Hi Amin,

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/EG7.pdf

Please read the page 18 of the guide at above mentioned link. It specifically reads as follows:

Translation of documents

Any document that is not in English or French must be accompanied by:

 the English or French translation; and
 an affidavit from the person who completed the translation; and
 a certified copy of the document.

You can apply with ENGLISH/FRENCH translation as CANADA has two official language ENGLISH & FRENCH. No matter whether you are applying or staying in Quebec or not.

Hope this will help.

Best luck,
Nisha

Are your documents not in English?
If you need to get a translation done, I have some advice. We charge a lot to do English to Spanish Translation, for example, but you are probably better off checking with your nearest Canadian consulate/embassy for that sort of routine paperwork translation. They might have an in-house service that will probably charge you a lot less than other bigger translators.
