Subject: My Consultant not providing file number/ ID,
I signed the contract with a Consultant in Karachi, Pakistan in March 2010 and made ´em initial $500 fees which was due on entering into the contract. I submitted all necessary forms and documents required at the initial stage. After 7 months, in October 2010, they sent me a letter on their letterhead and informed me that they had received ther approval letter from the visa office in UK and I need to submit second $500 payment which was due on the first approval. I asked my consultant to provide me copy of the same letter, file number or any other reference code for my record which may enable me to check my application online status on the Candian Visa office official website, but they kept saying they had the letter and I need to submit 2nd $500 installment. I told ´em that due to some personal matters I will not be contnuing with my application, they sent me a drafted withdrawal letter for my signature and again told me to submit the 2nd payment. The contract says "Second $500 installment is due UPON first approval from the visa office," I believe per agreement, they may only claim the second installment after providing the proof of first approval from the visa office. I have communicated ´em through mail, and have told ´em again and again to provide me the scanned copy the letter or my file number/UCI, but they have failed to provide me any of those informations and keep demanding for their second installment. Please advice mewhat may be the actual story behind not providing any of the proof or reference number associated to my immigration case.

Thanks

Just call CIC directly and confirm if your application has been submitted as your lawyer claim. Seems your lawyer haven´t; why would he/she be reluctant to give you file number otherwise.

There are two separate things here.

1- Contact CIC and get them out of the equation.
2- What does your contract say? If it says that you have to pay them when they submit the application and they did, you have to pay them, whether you are going to or not going to immigrate to Canada, that is not their problem, it is yours.

See what the contract say and don´t mix it up with your personal situation. If they did their part you have to pay them, plain and simple.

HOWEVER If they failed to do their part, then contact CIC fill the form, get them out of your application and tell them to go pound salt.

Friends,

My contract is so simple and very straight, it says:
2nd $500 payment is due UPON first approval from the Visa office.

I have been asking ´em to provide the file number and/or AOR letter copy so I can release their second payment which is conditionla to the first approval, not on the basis of their verbal claims, but they are stubborn not to provide the file number, AOR letter copy, ID or UCI. When I told ´em that I need any of those informations as I will check my application status on the CIC official web site, since then they are not replying my emails as well. They also threatened that if I was not making their payment they will take a legal action against I. It´s very much clear that they are violating the contract, not me, I am ready to make the payment but only if they provide the proof of the first approval and I confirm the same on the official CIC web site.

Well since you know the Consultant is certified discuss the situation with him/her in writing as per the code of conduct then file a complaint.

First I would have a third party read your contract.

$500.00 to assist with an application prior to submission then submitting it with no more payment, I´m sorry but this is too hard for me to accept.
