Hello Everyone,
A little Back Ground....
My mother has arrived in Canada in May 2008 on VISITOR VISA and has been granted extension of VISITOR VISA until now. I have also put her file for FAMILY CLASS - PARENTS & GRANDPARENTS in AUGUST 2007.
As per the last status update on CIC.GC.CA it says they are working on this sections´ file received on AUGUST 03, 2007. So her file should come to us (First part to evaluate SPONSOR) in couple of months (based on their speed to process this class).
My question is...
1. Can we request CIC by any means that she is in Canada from last few years, INSTEAD OF SENDING HER FILE TO NATIVE COUNTRY PLEASE PROCESS HER FILE HERE IN CANADA? I am aware that I can do her POLICE CLEARANCE AND MEDICAL from Canada.
2. If yes, How do we do that?
Any help related to this topic will be helpful. I am thanking every responder.

No - you can´t.
There is no in-Canada processing for parents and grandparents.

Hey Anonymous,
You are not exactly wrong, but you know what, there is a rule that if someone has been LAWFULLY admitted to any other country other than his/her nationality and stayed there for more than 1 year they can apply from that country´s visa office for FAMILY CLASS SPONSORSHIP as well.
I wasnt sure whether FAMILY CLASS SPONSORSHIP - PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS can do the same.
And for my mom, I talked to the Call center agent and she said in my mom´s case it would be processed at BUFFALO,USA as she is in CANADA on legal status for more than a year, visa office which is quicker than NEW DELHI, INDIA office.
So I learned something new and giving you the opportunity to learn and share your knowledge as well.
