When your Employer Specific Work Permit list a particular employer your not allowed to work for anyone else.

If you wish to change employers you must first get a LMO Labour Market Opinion that allows your new employer to employ you PLUS apply and receive a new work permit issued by Vegreville CPC.

To get a new LMO with a new employer specific work permit could easily take three months. Your not allowed to work for anyone else even if you have been laid off due to a downturn in that areas economy.

These guys are in serious trouble for $10.00 per hour.

This istuation has happened to previous clients of mine.

Two exoctic dancers accepted a contract which stated they would receive so much per day and would have to perform five shows. That all lap dances of $20.00 each would be theirs alone.

When they arrived they were forced to turn over the first 20 lap dances proceeds so they looked for a new employer after filing a complaint.

Exotic dancers are given a license to perform in a particular area Region/Municipality.

When they accepted different employment from Strip Club (B) of course Strip Club (A) complained to CBSA and they were arrested detained and removed.

These ladies and they were ladies had worked in other countries and never treated wrong.

CIC/CBSA can change things and should change procedures especially when an employer does not live up to the contract signed. We can and should do better.

To be able to eat and sleep in doors never tell a bad previous employer where your working without authorization.
