Subject: Got a letter for immigration about severing ties
  Hello Everyone,

We just received a letter from the Berlin saying "Your sponsor must provide evidence that he will reside in Canada at the time you become permanent resident of Canada. Evidence may include one or more of the following:

- letter from an employer;
- letter of acceptance to a Canadian educational institution;
- proof of having rented/bought a dwelling in Canada;
- reasonable plans for establishing in Canada or severing ties to Germany.

So the problem is I am freelance programmer, I won´t be getting a job in Canada once I get there (I already work for multiple firms from my area on a contract basis).

I won´t be returning to school anytime soon, so that one is out.

I already sent in my mortgage statement that I own a house in Calgary and that we plan to live there in our original application.

As for ties in Germany, I don´t have any real ones. I go to school to learn German (which I could leave anytime), I don´t work here or have a German job, I don´t own a car or a house, nor even rent a house (we live with family here). I did recently get a husband visa so that we felt safer about me staying here until our application was approved.

Does anyone have any advice as to what else I can provide them?

Thank you for your time

articulate your answers with appropriate documents - just like you have done to us. prove you own the house, prove your work scenario.

COMMON SENSE HELPS.

Like Sharon said prove you intend to reside in Canada by proving you have a residence.

Thanks guys, I was just curious as to why they are asking again when I already sent in my mortgage papers in the initial application.
