Hi,
I am in Canada on a Visitor visa. My visa expires on 18th Oct. I applied online for visa extension. I havent received any acknowledgement or anything so far. I don´t know my client ID number. The receipt that was generated doesnt have any 8 digit client ID number. My question is can I still stay in Canada until I hear back about my visa?

Hi SR,
Yes you can stay until you hear back about your visa.
Based on your receipt no. you can search for the status of your application online.

And about your client ID no. it is on the visitor visa paper which was given to you on your arrival in Canada.

Is it hard to get a visiting visa for the length of 6 months and then apply again for another 6 months? Is that possible or will CIC deny the extension? And is a child thats yours in Canada a good reason I miss her lots and want to stay with her.

Hi, I am due to leave canada 7th may as my 6 months is nearly up, can I get an extension for a further period whilst my application for permanacy is undertaken, I have purchased property here and will be getting married to a canadian within 2years. We are looking at getting spousal sponsorship underway. Do i have to go and wait 3 months before coming back???
