Subject: cic reqst explanation on proof of fund - Roy, Shar
  After a couple of years waiting, I was requested to do medical plus submit additional documents and six months bank statement. After submitting the documents and the bank statement, cic sent me a letter and this is what they are now asking;

"Give an explanation as to the origins of the large deposits made into your accounts via cash and cheque"

They need a response within seven days before they can continue processing my application.

My question: are they suspecting that I borrowed the money just to fulfill the requirement? How can I prove to them that I just liquedated my assets to deposit the money into the account to fulfill the requirement. Most people would invest their money rather than keeping in a bank account.

And if they are not satisfied with my explanation, will that be a ground for application being denied. Please advise. Roy, Sharon or anybody.

that is exactly what they are asking. if you liquidated your assets you should be able to verify that.

and yes, they can reject your application if you cannot prove those funds are yours and not borrowed.

Sharon,
I sold my two cars and deposited the funds in the account. How do you prove that?
