Subject: There must be a way to stay!
  Hi,
I´m trying to figure out a way to stay in Canada. I´m currently on an employer bound visa which is going to expire spring next year. My employer will not support any kind of required application for immigration, mind you they want me to stay and work for them.
I can´t apply on the skilled worker stream, as I only reach a max. of 65 points without the required job offer, LMO, etc.
I figure there must be some kind of way to stay, I mean I am already here and pay my taxes and contribute to society, but a immigration lawyer informed me the only way to really stay for me is
a) marry a stranger - not gonna happen!
b) outstay my visa, to become illegal in Canada and then set it all on 1 card with a 50/50 chance to stay or being deported - yeah not sure I wanna do that!

I have no partner to marry, I don´t have family to sponsor me, my employer is afraid of the paperwork involved in sponsoring me, I don´t feel like risking it and being deported in the end.

Let´s face it, those can not possibly be the only options that are really available!

Has anyone been in a similar situation and might be able to give me some idea´s, as to where else I could get some answers, like the ones that are actually helpful. Or just tell me how you got around this, if you did?

Thanks a bunch!

How about finding an employer who is willing to sponsor you?

Probably the reason the employer is not willing to support your PR application is that they do not understand the AEO Arranged Employment procedure. An AEO takes about 18-20 weeks then your allowed to apply at the CIO in Sydney but that process will not keep you here,

The employer needs to fill in a form and offer you a position with their company on a full time indeterminate period. There has to be an agreement of full time employment.

Hi Roy,
Thanks for your reply.
The reason why they won´t sponsor me, is because of the classification of my position. They are happy to support loads of visa applications, but only for academics. I´m not an academic and they made it very clear that they are happy to extend my contract on a full time basis, but I need to sort out the paperwork on my own, which is rather frustrating indeed. Mainly because they think they wouldn´t been able to get an LMO for my position.
So, I have a job if I get the paperwork sorted, but I won´t get the paperwork because they won´t support it.

You wouldn´t believe how many recommendation letters I get my boss to sign, so x, y and z get PR status, even though they are really just supposed to come for a couple of month, which makes the whole thing even more frustrating.

As for the suggestion from Anonymous, great idea, believe me I have considered that, but it´s easier said than done. Maybe I simply haven´t figured out, how to do it. The regular application process doesn´t seem to work, and I certainly do not have enough vitamin C (connections).

If you have the funds, you can apply for a study permit for graduate studies. If you´re in the sciences, you may be able to get graduate student research assistantships and/or teaching assistantships so you don´t really have to use up all of your own personal funds. Then, when you´ve been enrolled one year (I think, not sure anymore), you can apply for permanent residency. It may take a year (or shoter) or two before you get an "approval" or "disapproval."
