Subject: Renewing PR Card
  Hi everyone,

I was wondering if you could help me with a PR renewal question.
I know that in order for someone to be eligable for a PR renewal he needs to be in Canada 730 (2 years) out of the last 5 years.
Alternatively, to apply for citizenship you need to stay 1095 days (3 years) out of the last 5 years.
What if someone arrives to canada with a PR and stays for more than 2 years but less than 3, he is eligable to apply for PR renewal, correct?
And what about the whole process? how do you renew a PR?
Are there medical exams? can they refuse to give a renewal even though someone stayed for at least 2 years out of 5? what could be the reasons? and how long does it take to apply and receive the new PR card?
Thank you in advance for any bit of information!
M

1. Gather your documents

2. fill the form

3. pay the fee and send it in

4. Wait ( 6 to 8 months.)

5. If approved, you will be informed where to pick up your new PR card.

Thank you and good luck. ( no medical required)

thanks and... (in reply to: Renewing PR Card)
is there a reason for them to not approve, given the fact that i have stayed in canada for more than 2 years and have not committed any crime? :) do they review the immigration file at all? if not, why does it take so long?

I am sure it is nagging you in the back of your mind but.... can you pass a lie-detector test? You keep telling yourself that you stayed MORE than 2 years but is it REALLY truth? What if it is not and they somehow catch onto your guilty feeling? You might as well lose the Card....
