Subject: FSW under new rules - June 2010 - 2151 - Architect
  Hi all,

Great to come across a forum like this. very useful:). My huby is an Architect and we are planning to apply under the new rules updated on June end. I would like to connect with fellow architects around, to share info and ideas on immigration. Is there another architect looking to immigrate to Canada under the new rules?

in context with the visa office specific instructions,

For you, your spouse or common-law partner:
•Post-secondary education documents: vocational or technical certificates or diplomas;
•College or university documents: certification of completion and the graduation degree, diploma, or certificate issued by the college or university and the evaluation committee;
•Transcripts: original transcripts of all degrees must be submitted in university-sealed envelopes.
•Professional qualifications certificates: notarized professional qualifications certificates should be submitted if available. (e.g., Engineer, Computer Programmer, Accountant, Economist, Translator/Interpreter, Architect etc.)

pls could someone confirm in Indian context what papers have to be actually submitted and how to get certificates notarized? University sealed envelopes means do we have to request for a fresh one issued(he got it 10 years back)?

Please could someone share their thoughts on this?

Hi Indira,

SEE THE REPLY IN CAPITALS.

•Post-secondary education documents: vocational or technical certificates or diplomas;

THIS WOULD BE YOUR MARKSHEETS AND PASSING CERTIFICATES FROM 10TH AND 12TH STANDARD.

•College or university documents: certification of completion and the graduation degree, diploma, or certificate issued by the college or university and the evaluation committee;

THIS WOULD BE YOUR GRADUATION CERTIFICATE AND MARKSHEETS OF ALL THE YEARS DURING YOUR BACHELOR / MASTER STUDY.

•Transcripts: original transcripts of all degrees must be submitted in university-sealed envelopes.

YOU HAVE TO CONTACT THE UNIVERSITY FROM WHERE YOU AND YOUR SPOUSE HAS COMPLETED THE EDUCATION THEY WILL BE ABLE TO GUIDE YOU HOW TO ACHIEVE THE VERIFIED TRANSCRIPTS. BASICALLY THESE ARE THE MARKSHEETS OF YOUR BACHELOR / MASTER DEGREE AND ITS CERTIFICATE.

•Professional qualifications certificates: notarized professional qualifications certificates should be submitted if available. (e.g., Engineer, Computer Programmer, Accountant, Economist, Translator/Interpreter, Architect etc.)

THIS WOULD BE YOUR CERTIFICATE TO WORK AS A ARCHITECT IF YOU HAVE TO REGISTER WITH THE GOVT. OR EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE BEFORE YOU PRACTICE. (see it this way, doctors have to register with the regulatory body with their passing certificates and marksheets to get the license to practice before they can start their practice. similar to this if you have been working in any regulated occupation you have to provide the certificate).

FOR NOTARIZATION, YOU HAVE TO CONTACT LOCAL NOTARY PUBLIC TO GET YOUR PAPERS NOTARIZED.

University sealed envelopes means do we have to request for a fresh one issued(he got it 10 years back)?

YOUR UNIVERSITY WILL GUIDE YOU HOW TO GET IT FROM THEM IN A SEALED ENVELOPES. UNIVERSITIES KNOW THIS AS SO MANY PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO GET THE DOCUMENTS FROM SO MANY UNIVERSITIES IN INDIA.

Hope this will help.

Best luck
Nisha

2151 Architect from New Delhi (in reply to: FSW under new rules - June 2010 - 2151 - Architect)
Hi, I am an Architect from New Delhi planning to apply for Canada PR in 10-15 days. Married with 2 kids. Spouse not employed. Would be keen to share / connect with Indira.

I am unable to get transcripts from my University since it is in Maharashtra and they dont respond by email or phone. How important are transcripts ? Will my application be rejected if I submit just degree and marksheets ?

Yes, i would be glad to connect and help you with some required info :).

Regarding your transcripts, Yes, your best bet would be to include them(ND VO has been insisting on this lately).

I´m not active in this forum. Please join us on the above forum and you would not regret it :)

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.
