Subject: claiming false US citicenship |
I´m a naturalized Canadian who wants to sponsor my husband from Mexico and who was deported 3 years ago from the States for claiming false US citizenship. Can the sponsorship application be turn down if he had administrative criminal charges?

maybe, don't really know. (in reply to: claiming false US citicenship) Once they start processing your application at the Canadian embassy in Mexico city, they will ask you for a FBI clearance from your husband since he lived in the USA. I´m assuming you are putting down on the application that he lived in the USA, it would be dumb to lie to CIC.
I lived in the states for a few years and I had to give them (la embajada Canadiense en el DF) my FBI clearance. whether a deportation constitutes a criminal offense, you´re going to have to consult with either an immigration lawyer or contact the Canadian embassy.
