Hello,
I am a U.S. citizen with a Canadian fiancé and I have also been accepted to a Canadian College for the fall term. My Fiancé and I are looking to get married within the next couple of months (Today being July 12, 2010) and I am eager to gain PR. Now I have some familiarity with applying for a study permit and applying for PR (outland, of course) but have some concern as to if I could put myself in a bad spot. For example, If I were to arrive in Canada in August, gain my student visa at the point of entry, then marry my fiancé in the next week, and then apply for PR using a US address so as to be an outland application, would I jeopardize either my student visa or my PR application? My hope is that I could do this so I could both be studying, married to a wonderful Canadian woman, and have my PR by or during summer of 2011. Your advice and ideas will be greatly appreciated.
