Subject: bank account (signing documents on arrival?)
  Hi, everybody
Question concerning opening a bank account from the home country before arrival to Canada.
The bank suggested that they would open the account while I´m still in the home country and that I can sign the documents ON ARRIVAL.
Did anyone have the same experience? Is it normal to sign papers only on arrival (a little worry that I´ll have to transfer the funds to this account before arrival to Canada and consequently before signing the papers). Do I risk to end up with no money on my account or any other problems?

Any adivce will be helpful

Thanks

signing documents. (in reply to: bank account (signing documents on arrival?))
Hi Andy,

Yes, it´s a good idea to open a bank account before landing in canadaq. Some of the canadian banks are providing this facility. The largest bank of canada SCOTIABANK is providing this facility. May be there are others too. Also, you need not to transfer a large amount of money. You can transfer even $500. It helps you a lot, when you open an account before your landing and you can sign your papers here. so, no worries my friend. Go ahead and open the account ASAP.
