Hi Roy.
When I send in the sponsership paper work to move to Canada, can I travel back and forth between the US and Canada while the paper is being worked on??? I have read it´s best to file in the US.
I bet you get this asked a 100 times but I can´t find it on the forum site. Sorry.
Thanks Bluecrab

Yes you can. My husband and I are in the same situation - and my husband visits me in Canada regularly.
In terms of where to file - it´s fastest to file outland (v.s. inland). My husband now spends the majority of his time with me in Canada as a visitor - however we are applying outland.
When you are crossing the border carry a copy of your marriage certificate with you and also the print out proving that you have paid the fees related to the PR/sponsorship process. Although my husband has never been questioned, I understand this information can come in useful since it proves that you have a sponsorship application underway.
Finally, please note that until your PR application is finzlied, you can only come to Canada as a visitor. Keep this in mind and behave accordingly when crossing the border. This means that knowing how long you are visiting for is a good idea. On the other hand, it´s a very bad idea to say things like "I am going to stay with my wife until my PR application is finalized". Even with a PR application in progress and a wife in Canada, you can still be refused entry.
If you plan on crossing often - consider investing in a Nexus card. (Both my husband and I have one.)
Hope this helps.
