Subject: non permanent resident returning to Canada
  Hi,

I am a Canadian Citizen and I applied to sponsor my husband to become a permanent resident. Both applications (sponsorship and permanent residency) were submitted to Vegreville on November 23rd 20009. Our documents were being reviewed since early February 2010.

Because of serious family issues we need to travel to Greece and visit our father the next few weeks. Since my husband has not received his first stage approval yet, will he be able to return to Canada? (His Visa expires August 20th 2010). Does he need to submit any forms/documents (travel document)?

Thank you very much,

natalie

There is nothing to prevent him to return to Canada.

HOWEVER.....The visa only allows a person to knock our door.

Having an inland application in process, only means that his intentions are to stay in Canada AND he is presenting at Port of Entry as a visitor (which means visiting FOR a period of time) with the intend to stay in the country.

He may be refused entry into Canada and then his PR application will be affected.

50/50
