Subject: overstayed visa-help
i over stayed my visa in one country but left voluntarily. would this affect my application to come to canada?
what would be the best path to guarantee a visa? could i possibly get a visit visa? i would like to do the lie-in caregiver program and hopefully find work thereafter any chance this will be a possibility?
thanks

The problem is that history has proven that you violated the law in the past, you are going to have to convince the Canadian visa officer that you are not going to do it again.

It is up to you.

Well DocD is only (partly) correct because your applying for temporary residence and you claim you overstayed somewhere else. The issue is the question is never asked on the application form!

UNLESS THEIR IS EVIDENCE OF YOUR REMOVAL IN YOUR PASSPORT THEY WILL NEVER KNOW BECAUSE THE QUESTION IS NEVER ASKED!

The work permit application asks you to state the duration of your stay in other countries. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM1295B.PDF

The reason for this is that you must provide proof of no convictions from all countries you have resided in for more than six months.
