OK,

1) in ALL sponsorship applications the Canadian is assessed first. If it is an inland application it takes almost 8-10 months for the 1st phase of approval- why, because there are way too many stupid people out there thinking that is the best way to go.
2) OUTLAND applications are also first approved in Canada but in Missisauga rather than Viegreville.
3) after that, any and ALL applications go to the country of residency for the applicant. Depending on the embassy, some applications are faster than others. It has NOTHING to do with babies. EVERYTHING to do with clean applications, clean medicals, clean verification of a genuine relationship, clean police clearances.
READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. READ THE ONLINE OPERATIONAL GUIDELINES so you know what CIC is looking for.

The blind leading the blind is a very scary endeavour.

SHARON,
i have asked you directly in another thread on what exactly to do and you kinda tap danced around the questions and now you chime in with "blind leading the blind" you should really choose your words more carefully. as for reading the guide I HAVE you seen that in another thread where someone was asking about a sponsors financial requirments. And as for that other thread about the canadian wanting to marry an american in canada but wasnt sure because of her residency requirments I was helping her since my wife and I went thru the same thing and presto look who came in to rain on that convo "YOU" CIC has nothing to do with a marriage IN canada you deal directly with Registrar General in thunderbay. So that 2 cents you put in there was the blind leading the blind. As for "my wifes troubles not being over" its just over 2yrs and no problems. I dont wanna hurt your feelings but it seems like you cant answer anything directly and have nothing positive to really say...only to try to disprove everything, diproving is fine but offer some pointers when you do. Have a nice day Sharon

OMG Eric, you are setting yourself for a failure.
Firstable, Maryam has no clue about the whole thing.
Follow her lead and let us know how it goes.

Here is the simplest way I can find:

Your wife has to send the sponsorship application along with your PR application to Missisauga ON (If applying from abroad)

If everything is fine, your wife will be approved as a sponsor and Missisauga will forward your PR application to the Canadian Embassy or Canadian High Commission in charge of your region.

You have to probe that your relationship is genuine and yes the baby has to be in the application, it has to be in the pics, it helps to probe that you guys are a happy family but again.... it only HELPS! it doesn´t mean that the baby is an automatic ticket to Canada.

You should really take the time to read the applications and procedures at www.cic.gc.ca

Maryam,
It does take longer to apply from within Canada and if your application is refused there is no right to appeal.

I don´t know and I really don´t care who your lawyer is, but get references and make sure your case is in good care.
Make sure that it is a pardon what he needs and nothing else.

I am not dancing around - I just refuse to do peoples research for them. CIC website is pretty clear. The forum I sent you to has thousands of threads about US- Canada sponsorship.

Retaining status is always a problem when you test the rules.

and trust me, you are not hurting my feelings.

this page is a friking joke is you all need guidance see you lawyer and better yet get a lawyer before starting an immigration process, and you wont see yourselves getting advise from sharon she is in all the post that ive read,if you dont want to do the research job for other ppl why bother yourself in even posting comments...by the way sharon dont call people stupid bacause they decided to go with the in land application you dont know what was the main reason for them to do it that way... and i know to couples that did in canada they got their pr card 9 months after they did the sponsorship application, and my sister waited 3 years doing the application in my home country so is just depends on luck you can never be so sure in this situations and a good lawyer is always the best..
