hey
im in Canada and i sponsored my husband from Syria i send my application on JANUARAY 27 2010 and im still waiting i heard thats it takes 3 or 4 monthes from syria till they give him the visa is it true?
i got my client number from MISSISSAUGA they told me that they send my application to the visa office in DAMASCUS SYRIA the visa office in Syria send me a letter in the mail my new permanent residence number and they send me that website and they were like i can cheak my status on this website but i dont know how i tryed everthing but nothing workes..

you have to be approved as sponsor first, then it goes to Damascus. Current wait for phase one approval(that´s you) is about 2 months. So you may not have even been assigned a file number yet.
There is still some waiting to be done.

They received mine on January 18th, I got my approval to sponsor on March 16th. Still have not heard anything else (my husbands PR application was sent to Buffalo). Basically yours was sent a week later than mine, so you should be on the same time frame. If you have not received your letter from Mississauga, you should be getting it soon (whether you are approved to sponsor or not). Keep in mind though, the week after I submitted my application, the estimated processing times increased from 36 days to 64 days in Mississauga so there may be a backlog.

SHARON i was approved as a sponsor hun i have a file number what i meant is i send my application on january 27 2010 and i got my file number from mississauga on febuaray 26 2010 then on march 22 210 i got my other file number from syria and they told me my application is´IN PROCESS´ and they send me his website they were like i can chek my new file number on this website but i tryed to chek my status but dont know how ..
what im asking is how can i cheak my status number on this website ??

Hi, im sorry if im posting this wrong, please excuse me, but i have a question..."CONFUSEDCANADIAN" my wife is a PR and im american and we were married in ontario so of course she is gonna sponsor me. however we´re confused on the process... do we do sponsor app first then PR app, or just send in EVERYTHING and fee´s all at once to buffalo? the reason i ask you "confusedcanadian" is because you and your husband are in the same boat as us.
