Hello,
I am an MA student but my study permit expired before i could graduate. I was unable to renew it before the expiry date and applied for a renewal 4 months later - I was unaware of the 90-day window till when CIC rejected my application for that reason. However, I immediately sent them a letter explaining my situation and asking for a reconsideration, but I have not yet heard from them. A few days ago, Border Services officers come to my place. What can I do to restore my status? What should I expect and do from here forwards? Has anyone had a similar experience? I live my with girlfriend-who is also on study visa, can a common law union help me restore my status?
