Hi - I am a new immigrant landed a year ago. I had no problem in getting a job but after six months they have laid me off as they are reducing workload. If I apply for EI would it affect my citizenship application later? I love this great country and would under no circumstances want anything to jeopardize my Citizenship.

Some people ask such stupid questions! Why would being laid off work and claiming EI affect anything?????

A: You are NOT qualified for EI. Good luck.
I love Canada too, but earning income is a vital part. Perhaps Canada offer a better and safer life, but in income aspect, it is terrible.

How is Canada terrible in income aspect? Obviously if you don´t have a proper education it´ll be terrible otherwise it´s fine!
