| Subject: Immigration forms for Canada in Spanish |

My boyfriend resides in the Dominican Republic and does not speak English. I was reading on the site that documents can only be submitted in English or French. In this case what do I do? Is that where a representative comes in? If Spanish forms are actually available can he fill these out and then have the representative just transfer his information over to the English forms? In this case I am guessing the use of a representative form must be used. Also if the use of representative form must be used, does it have to be a lawyer or could I be the one to transfer all of his information onto the Canadian forms and just list myself as the representative?

1. there are no forms available in Spanish
2. you can act as his representative and fill in the forms for him
3. what sort of application are you contemplating? Skilled worker application without english or french language skills is almost impossible.
4. sponsorship? then he needs to be a whole lot more than your boyfriend

what is an outland application? Is it the application for people processing outside of Canada as oppose to already being here processing it?

whether he is sleeping beside you in Canada, or waiting in his home country for approval - apply as if he is living in his home country. Faster and it allows for an appeal.
Do some serious research into both inland and outland applications before doing ANYTHING.

It is not a very good idea to have the spouse as a translater. Too many other topics will arise during the completion of the forms then just the questions on the forms.
Men are from Mars and Women from Venus----we think different and what is impoertant to one is not to the other.
Ask yourself this question, how many women are REALLY interested in the Canada vs USA hockey game todayÉ i rest my point and then comes the additional page and why he thinks your relationship is genuine.
Oh come on you don`t think that, can`t you use better words to describe me?????

Miss...Anonymous...first read all forums and try to search for Roy´s ideas about sponcorship..he has got pretty good suggestions, then ask your bf to fill the forms with an English speaker ...could be a very close friend of him ...and believe me this is this easiest way of coming to Canada, and the process is sooo simple, just be honest and show them your relationship is real, prove it by sending them, pictures, letters, phone calls, chat site messages... etc., get also letters from friends who know about your relationship...
If you are not a lady over 50 and he is in his 20s, and comes from a country where men NEVER get married to older ladies, there will be no problems, ...Those experts in the CIC might wonder in which language you have communicated, hope your spanish is much better than his English... then nothing to worry ...
As a final note, please remember the world is full of insects who rely on others weaknesses-blood (in immigration business it is MONEY)...therefore NEVER PAY a PENNY to anyone... Just read, read, get all the information, do your homework, ...that is it ....

I am really torn about using a representative. I did not I am born in Canada and my father who works for the government and is used to their phrasing assisted me. My husband is from India and before deciding to fill out the form had gone to see consultants there who were a joke. Charging 10 000 on top of the immigration fees and taking their sweet time to submit your paperwork after you provide it to them. I have heard similiar night mares about Brazil. That said if his english is not strong I would be more likely to have someone assist him. You don´t want a language barrier to cause delay of your application. I would be more likely however to get someone in Canada versus DR. If you do your forms on your own, make sure to provide more evidence than you think is necessary it may seem like overkill but if you can avoid being called for an interview it will decrease your processing time.

Well I helped a friend of mine - a lady from China- who got married to another chinese...and with my help and support, she got her husband just in 4 months...Am I colsultant, nooooo way, do I know a lot about immigration noooo way.... Did my friend paid me anything, oh yes, a glass of beer...see there are still people who can do simple things ...just be well prepared.... and NEVER and NEVER pay to those immigration blood suckers....the difference between you guys and those immigration people is, they got experience, and probable a course for 3-6 months...that is it, most of them even do not have a universoty degree....and they spend a little bit less time than you do it on your own, but remember the cost you pay for that...1000 CAD? 10,000 CAD ? ...NO need ....Believe me no NEED...

actually a bit more around 3500
and judging from people who had similar circumstances to me and the issues they dealt with... was WELL worth it.
To each their own.
I read all the time where armchair ´consultants´ dish out advice and ´help´ others and the disaster that results.
Even know of one on other sites that still dishes it out when they made a glaring error on their own submit.. only to blame those nasty immigration officials.
So if you fell 100% comfortable putting your future in the hands of a ´friend´ or yourself go ahead.
kudos to you on the 4 month turn around ;)
