Subject: re-married in canada
My guy and I have been together for a while now. He was once married, but that marriage didn´t last very long, they have been seperated now for over fifteen years and he´s telling me because his first marriage did not last the required amount of time and they were not citizens of Canada getting married again and having me move over there now would be very differcult and it will raise several questions. He´s a resident of Canada, whereas I am not a resident or citizen of Canada. Can you tell me if this is true and what laws or rules apply to this situation.

Thank You!!!

he needs a proof of divorce if he wants to sponsor you. would that be difficult - only if he is reluctant to do it. Would it be difficult and raise several questions... not really.

Caramel, be careful. Something does not feel quite right. How do you know this guy? Online? How do you know he is alone?

so, if you say he is safe - he concerns make no sense whatsover. what does he mean by very difficult and raise several questions? Is he formally divorced and if not, why not? Did he sponsor his first wife?
