Subject: Canadian Driver's Handbook
My wife is trying to study for her drivers examination in New Brunswick. She is having a hard time with the book because her official language is Spanish. Does anyone know where to get a drivers handbook in Spanish translation. New Brunswick driver´s handboook if possible, but any canadian driver´s handbook will do. Thank You

What she needs is to learn is english or french not to look for a spanish study guide.

You won´t be able to find a study guide in spanish. The road signs as well as the test are either in English or French.

BTW, those are the two official languages in this country.

A quick check on google brought up a few language translation services in NB. You might want to give that a try.

Where are you in NB (generally)? Have you looked locally for a translator (not sure where you are, but I wouldn´t think it would be easy)?

Have you contacted Service New Brunswick to see if they can recommend anyone who can translate it for her? I see two problems with that idea (though it´s worth a try): 1. Service New Brunswick employees, in my experience, are completely unwilling to be helpful unless pressed, and 2. her test will be in either French or English (her choice) but definitely not in Spanish.

DocD is right; everything in this province is in both French and English and she will really need to know one or the other to be able to drive and navigate, depending on where you live. Learning it in Spanish but not knowing the two official languages isn´t going to help her.

good luck.

Thank you for the info. I know that SNB is very unwilling to help where i live, as their official language is only english for some reason. My wife speaks english well. I am just looking for a translation of the book, so I can explain some of the more difficult examples. I am doing this so she understands all safety aspects of the road clearly. She will have a translator for her exxaminations, although she will probably not need him for her actual driving examination. I will keep searching. Thanks again for the reply.
