Subject: Applications between Feb 27, 2008 & Nov 27, 2008
  Dear Sharon,

I will be deeply obliged if you reply me on the following:

After getting assurance from a consultancy, I registered for Canadian skilled worker category through them in June 2008; I was totally unaware of the February 27, 2008 declaration that all further cases will be based on a new list of occupations. My consultant did not tell me about it either. In Nov 27, 2008, the government released the Priority Occupation List. In March 2009 I was told by my consultant that my case number is ready and that I should give them their remaining fee. However in April 2009, I got an email from my consultant that my case has been rejected by the Canadian government because I did not fit into the 38 occupation list.

My 2 queries are:
1. Of course applications can be submitted to the CHC, but can a consultant assure its client that he/she is eligible for the Canadian skilled worker category during this time period (Between February 27, 2008 and November 27, 2008). I think it is NO, because the Canadian government is in the process of finalizing the new list of occupations and nobody knows what that list is -- prior November 27, 2008.

2. I was told by my consultant that they had received my case number in March 2009; then in April 2009 I was told that my application was rejected because I did not fit into the new list of occupations. How far can this true? How can I receive a case number in Feb 2009, when I actually don’t fit into the list of 38 occupations?

Comments from others are also welcome. Thanks a lot in advance.

Kind Regards,
Varghese
