Subject: Maximum Yearly Visit For Americans - Please Answer
I cannot find out how long the maximum yearly visitation is in Canada for an American.

If i stay the full 6 months then return to the states, how soon can i come back?

And for how long?

Technically, you could make a "U" turn at the border and come back right away.

BUT, I highly doubt that the CBSA officer will let you back in.
That is a clear demostration that your intentions as a visitor are not on temporarily which will make you inadmissible.

Technically i only have to return for a day, literally, or not?

What if I´m independently wealthy and have a clear agenda and just want to visit for 9 or 10 months out of a calendar year as simply as possible?

I would love to see this information on an official website.

Ok,

If you are wealthy and have a clear agenda as you said, you don´t have to leave Canada after six months, why just don´t extend your permit for another 3 to 4 months?. Be prepared to demostrate that you can support your self during that period as well as you have enough ties to come back to the United States at the end of your visit. It will be requested in your application for an extention or at the POE upon your arrival.

Americans do not need a permit to enter Canada.

However, border agents do have the final say as to whether they will allow you to spend any amount of time in the country or not. So whereas yes, technically, you can return to Canada the following day after a 6 month stay, it is unlikely that any agent would allow you to do that, regardless of your "independently wealthy" status or your "agenda".

You might want to contact border control (not immigration, since this isn´t an immigration matter) to get the official word on your situation.
