Subject: PR for Elderly Parent |

My wife´s mother appears to have arithmya, some sort of condition that involves low blood pressure, missed heartbeats, and dizziness whenever she feels stressed. She recently went to see a Cardiologist, and may (or may not) need a pacemaker. We´re not sure of the extent of her problem, but due to stress, she has been in bed rest for two weeks.
Wife´s mother wants to come live in Canada as PR. She is currently 56 years old.
Could this be an issue for PR approval? Can she be rejected due to medical reasons?
Your candidness and honesty would be appreciated.

(in reply to: PR for Elderly Parent) yes, anyone that may add additional pressure to the already stretched medical system will have their file looked at closely.
And one other minor thing - in Canada, a person who is 56 years old is not considered elderly - they are middle aged and in their prime.
