I was wondering if you were going to go out and watch! Sounds like Toronto has embraces the excitement and that is really nice to see. Vancouver is still feeling a little grumpy about the Olympics (costs, inconvenience, its our national sport to complain) but even around here we are catching the excitment that is coming from the torch winding its way across the country.

I am very lucky - it appears I will have 3-4 opportunities to be in close proximity to the relay route in the last 2 days before the Opening Ceremonies. I am lucky. My job gives me an inside glance at some of the relay logistics so I have a pretty good idea about route and times which are not available to the public. Initially I was ambiviant about the idea of going out to watch but now I am determined to get out there to cheer. It is quite an experience - so I am told (you will have to report back tomorrow)

In the mean time, I need 4 more pair of Red Mittens before Christmas. HELP!

The torch was ten minutes late in Ajax and it started in Oshawa. They gave it a window of 06:45 a.m. til 07:20

Minus 12 with a wind chill and was standing outside from 06:30 cold but really well worth it.

Each runner runs about 300 meters

The torch has far more flame then I ever imagined.

GO CANADA
