STOP

Question 1 - have you landed yet? if not, you have to do this very carefully. If you get married before you land, you have altered your status and you will not be allowed to sponsor your spouse at a later date.

if you have landed... then you must sponsor your spouse from Canada. make sure you have sufficient evidence the marriage is not for immigration purposes.

should you want to marry before landing and have your wife come with you, then you must advise CIC and they will probably want your visa back while they add your wife in to your application.

BE CAREFUL. this step you are considering causes huge problems for many people if it is not done properly.

Does she work, will she be contributing to our poor economy, or just draining it further by mooching off our system?

Do you? Why did you need to come here if you just got married elsewhere??

These questions need to be adressed.

These questions need to be adressed.
By whom?

This is simple:

Your visa means that you can come and knock our door, you haven´t become a PR yet.

If you haven´t land and you are planning to get married before landing in Canada, you have to inform the Embassy BEFORE you come to Canada. Otherwise, you may be refused entry when you arrive and even if you manage to enter the country you will not be able to sponsor your wife EVER and CIC will come after your PR status.

You have three options here:

1- You get married and include your wife in your applications BEFORE you land in Canada.

2- Land in Canada first, then get married and then file and outland sponsorship.

3- Don´t do any of the above and then when you fail miserably, I will be the first to tell you "I told you so"

maybe i wasn´t clear before ....
im not married yet ...just engaged ...
im going to land in Canada by my self first to start my career and fix my life there...then after i think one year i will come back to get married from my own country and of course i will send to the embassy...so now in the engagement period there is nothing to do ???
and after the marriage i send to the gov in Canada itself or the embassy in my country ?

You can´t really do anything until you are married and you are ready to sponsor her application.
Once you become a Permanent Resident of Canada you can only sponsor your spouse as long as you live in Canada.
Go to CIC´s website at www.cic.gc.ca and follow the instructions to do what is called and outland application and you will see what is required to sponsor a family member from abroad.

Cheers,

Bill

Can anyone review the responses given by various people above and tell us who amongst them comes across as """aggressive"""?

Some advice for DocD:
Please, huh, when people ask for advice, let´s try and be courteous when responding to them

And as for you Chad:
It´s better to keep quiet than to ask questions which are by no means your business.

Sharon and Bill:
Thanks for being so kind and courteous.

Rami:
I´m sure you know what to do now. Sharon and Bill have said it all.

It´s MY business , because it´s MY country and MY fu**ing money being wasted on bringing in foreigners to further erode our culture when that money could be spent on educating our own, and taking care of the homeless, and making OUR lives better.

I am sick of it, we have far too many immigrants here already and we are bending over and taking it in the ass from a good majority of them and being "good Canadians". There has to be an end to it, a moratorium on freeloaders.

I don´t plan to just sit silent on the sidelines while our overly politically correct government throws in the towel.

And yes, I am agressive.

well Chad, from one Canadian (my g.g.grandpa came here in 1852) to another - SHAME ON YOU.

you are not agressive - you are a jerk.

Last time I checked, Canada was a country of immigrants. Unless you are first nations, someone extended to your family the same rights and opportunities that are being offered this current group of people.

OUR OUR OUR...pleeaaase. Say the truth - I, I, I. What the F&*# are you doing lurking around an immigration website besides looking for a chance to spout off garbage that you would not have the guts to say in public for fear of being charged with hate crimes.

you are disgusting excuse for a Canadian.

That is just plain dumb. That is like saying that I don´t like the US because there are too many americans living down there or I don´t like Newfoundland because there are too many Newfees there LOL.

This country is made of immigrants like most countries in the world.
BTW I am as Canadian as it gets.

Remember you are unique, just like everyone else.
