Subject: Re application for Canadian Immigration
I applied Canadian Immigration and I landed in Canada in August 2005. I applied for PR card and SIN number but did not apply for Health Card and driving license. As per rules, I should have stayed there for 2 years in 5 years to maintain my Canadian Immigration. But I did not stay there for more than 7 days. As per rules my immigration status has already expired.

Now, I want to apply again for Canadian Immigration. I am Chartered Accountant and eligible as per new rules. Is there any possibility that Immigration officer will reject my application because I did not maintain my PR status by staying in Canada previously.

If not, what reason should be written on form because one of the form ask for reason to be written for not maintaining the status.

Thanks

No. The new application will be reviewed based on the current laws and information you provide to the embassy.

Yes, you should have a reasonable reason to explain as why you just stayed a week and never came back...it could be medical grounds, family break-ups, job committments, studies etc, family issues back home etc....

Thanks Alibash

But, they will ask for proof, Suppose, If I will say that medical grounds, then they may ask for Medical History in case of job commitments, they can ask for such letter as a proof. They may say to attach such documents which I donot have.

Truely speaking, I had a good job which I could not find in Canada. I was not financially sound at that time.

Now, I am financially sound and I can survive without job for 2-3 years, if need be, as I donot want to compromise with my job by joining in other fields then my own profession.

I hope that this reason will be enough otherwise authorities will reject my application. Last time, I applied myself but this time I am not sure if this will be good if I apply through lawer.
