Hi all. I am 27 year old single girl who has a stable job in India and am financially doing well with a decent bank balance. I wish to apply for a tourist visa to canada and stay there for around 3-6 months to explore the country for better prospects. If i like the same i would like to come back and apply for a PR. My concerns are:
1. Can i get a tourist visa to canada ( someone told me that singles of my age do not get a visa as the visa officer might reject my case under the suspicion of me marrying someone in Canada and settling there)
2. Can i get a working visa / work permit for 6 months along with my visitors visa so that i can earn while i explore the country.
Your comments/ opinions will be highly appreciated

(in reply to: Tourist Visa to Canada) YES because i do not want to land up in a situation wherein i do not have sufficient funds in my account. and i am seeking an opinion and you have no right to make any mockery of my concerns. If you do not have a suggestion please refrain from responding but please do not try to make fun of people without understanding their situations.

(in reply to: Tourist Visa to Canada) Look for out of the normal tourist things to do like taking a dog sled trip from Parry Sound into a park for an overnight experience etc. etc.
Use your imagination.
When you say I want to come to see Niagara Falls the Visa Officer could say, so open a book or watch a video on line.

are you interested in the tourist visa or work permit?
if you want to come as a tourist and want to burn your Dollars for the improvement of Canadian economy you are welcome. At least the economy will compensate for the Mexicans and the Czechs that needs visa to enter Canada.
else if you want to come and work in a short time so that you can explore the Canadian environments and make some money go to www.cic.gc.ca for more information

Tourist Visa to Canada (in reply to: Tourist Visa to Canada) Dear Shanya,
Q1 - No one knows for sure iof you would get the visa. However, You could apply for a visitor visa from India and if you could convince the visa officer that you have enough ties and reasons to come back to india, sure, you will get a visitor visa. However, on visitor visa, you won´t be able to work legally...
Q2 - Visitor visa and work permits are two different types of visas and does not get stamped at the same time. So, the moment the visa officer gets your feeling to work while on your visitor visa, you won´t get the visitor visa. Now, you could get a work permit before coming to Canada if you have a full-time job offer from a Canadian employer and the job is confirmed by HRSDC as Labor Market Opinion. If you need any further assistance, I can help you as how to prepare your visitor visa application in a logical and professional way to increase your chances of getting the one...but NO GUARANTEE...
Hope this is helpful.
Good luck!!

visa to Canada (in reply to: Tourist Visa to Canada) Believe it or not but getting a visa into Canada has actually become easier then before. Anyone can get a visitors visa as long as they do not have a criminal history or they are not on any watch list. If you name has been flagged for any reason you will not get entrance into Canada.
You just need to tell them that you want to visit Canada because you have never been to Canada, Be honest with Immigration Officer and tell them that you are interested in possibly immigrating to Canada but first you would like to visit the country and see if it is a good fit for you.
I have helped a lot of people get their PR papers and visa. Trust me it´s not as horrifying as some people might have you believe it is. The process time takes a bit of time but as long as you have everything they require your golden.
