| Subject: leaving Canada after overstay |

Hi,
a friend of mine has visitor status expired in April2009. He is going to leave Canada this week, do he has any immigration checks while exiting? he has around 6 months overstay....
He is UK Citizen. and been here on work permit after work permit was expired he requested a status change to visitor which was accepted and he was granted a visitor status until March 2009.
what happens if they know about his overstay while exiting..
