Any advice? I want to sponsor my husband. I´m a Canadian and he is a foreign national from UK, currently in Canada on a work permit. We want to do it from Buffalo - any idea on the forms I should use.
The overseas application package seems to be for people who are physically out of the country. And on the overseas package, I can´t find a form or a letter that he could use to apply for a police certificate - and the instructions from the package says if the application is incomplete, it will be sent back!

He needs proof of no convictions from every country including Canada that he has resided in for more then six months since he was eighteen.
If his work permit was issued for one year regulation 11 applies and he can submit at Buffalo RPC if you focus on being forced to an interview you will save some money.
Focus on proving your relationship because that is your task!
He or his friends back home will know how to obtain a police certificate or just go to www.cic.gc.ca on the right side at the bottom is for medical checks and police certificates. Some countries will not mail the results outside of his home country.
Google International Fingerprint Services and there should be an office close to you. They will take his prints for his home country if they require same. What is required is on the web site and the Pro´s may know a little more details regarding the UK.
I do recommend you submit in London the government employees in Buffalo RPC get a little upset doing every other Visa Posts work.
Your job is to prove the relationship is genuine, don´t forget that.
Good luck and focus on relationship photos not wedding staged photos! Really focus on supporting evidence as to why he is special to you and why you are special to him.
DO NOT forget the un-numbered question in bold at the bottom of his and your questionnaire.
