I am seeking a permanent resident visa as a skilled worker, but I am bi-polar. Will I be denied based on this?

Thanks!

Not telling the Dr. (in reply to: medically inadmissable)
So, what happens if I don´t tell the Dr. and then I show up in Canada and the first thing I do is make an appointment with a psychiatrist to update my meds? Also, won´t my meds show up in the bloodwork?

ànswer the questions that are asked of you in the medical exam. Nothing more, nothing less. They will ask what is of importance to CIC - don´t guess!

What exactly will they ask? (in reply to: medically inadmissable)
What I would really love to know is exactly what they will ask in the medical exam. I am certain that they will ask if I have ever had a diagnosis of mental illness. If I don´t tell them, what will happen when they figure it out once I am in Canada?

lying is worse than having a medical condition. A medical condition won´t get you deported - lying will.

Thanks for your good advice (in reply to: medically inadmissable)
I think that is what it boils down to. If Canada will take me, I guess it just has to be as is. Perhaps it would be easier if my boyfriend (he is living in Canada as a permanent resident)and I went ahead and got married. He thinks I will be accepted no matter what. Umm... I´m just not sure Canada wants someone with a mental illness. Although I have always been a successful professional, it is still a label I live with. I also have cancer all over my family tree. What kind of chance do I have? Thanks for your advice.
