Subject: ok i need help again
I post here awhile ago about my boyfriend being from belguim and wanted to know how long he could stay on his passport. Well he stayed!! now we want to know if he can apply for and extension to stay longer as we rent a home together instead of getting married(not ready to marry yet)so we decided to do the sponsor a common law spouse in which we need to be living together for a yr yad yad. He was going to go back to Belgium at the end of the 6 months stay there for a couple of weeks to visit his family then we were by his mother that if he was to go back he wouldn´t be able to come back for 3 months(not sure if this is true) so i figured i would ask here if anyones this to be true or if he can get an extension and if so when would he have to apply for it. I would be gratefull for any input.

why he do not cross the border in USA for half a hour and get back in Canada then he will have an other 6 months visa to stay in Canada

Cause he isn´t a US resident he is from Belgium so that won´t work and also he isn´t here on a visa

the short answer is no.
If your BF does not have status in Canada (Study Permit/Work Permit etc...) then he cannot extend anything, becuase there is nothing to extend.
If you keep having your BF live here as a visitor (when he obviously is not) and you apply down the road for permanet residency CIC and CBSA will notice that he was not a genuine vistior previsouly and this could (not always) be held against him.
The best option would be for your BF to apply for status of some sort, Work, or study and then apply down the road to an inland office for permanent residency.

Of ocurse maybe I read your post wrong and youf BF DOES have staus of some sort here, then you would need to apply to an inland office of CIC (www.cic.gc.ca) for an extension which is a very easy process. During the time that he was applying (once sent off) his status would remain even though it has not been approved/denied.
