How does any person find an Experienced Consultant?

Any Immigration Consultant that is authorized to represent your concerns for a fee before the Minister, IRB, CIC or CBSA Officer will be listed on the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants web site at www.csic.ca

As of today there is supposedly 1590 authorized Immigration Consultants found here http://www.csic-scci.ca/find/all.html Just how experienced are any CSIC members is a little hard to ascertain if that member has an impressive web site. Do not be fooled by a good web site, nice clothes or a fancy office. Ask many questions regarding their experience before offering to retain.

CSIC Members membership numbers!

The letter (M) denotes "members" then the first two digits show which year they joined the current regulatory body known as CSIC was created in 2004.

Lets say a CSIC member your considering retaining membership number starts with M09 this refers that that member joined CSIC in 2009.

If a member has a number that shows MO4 that means that they were doing Immigration business since at least 2004 and probably a considerable time before since there was no regulation of consultants before that.

Remember always get references and ensure any representative you may choose to retain has considerable experience in your area of concern. This information can also be found in the CIC Program Manuals for InLand Processing manual IP9 appendix B found here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/ip/ip09-eng.pdf
