Hi Roy/Sharon,
Appreciate if either of you can tell me what happen if my wife fails the medical. I´m the main applicant. Does obesity ground to fail my wife´s medical?

thanks Roy for the prompt reply - really appreciate it. What happen if my wife fails the medical due to some other reasons. Can i go ahead first and wait for the condition to improve and apply for her again?

what is the condition beyond being fat?
what would you do if they decline her in the future- go home or abandon your wife?
I won´t comment on what I think of that idea

The reason there are such great number of fat women in Canada is that the food here is addictive and they just can´t stop eating or don´t know when to stop. If your wife has this tendency of overeating and not working out, her condition will get far worse after arrival in Canada.. particularly during winters, when even the slim Canadian women add large mounds of lard to their figures. I would say, just leave her behind... it is for her own good. Bringing such women to Canada is tantamount to contributing to their own early death from obesity-related illnesses.

If you´re applying as a family then all family members need to pass the medical and security examinations. Obesity in itself is not a cause for refusal.

thanks all for the replies. and to answer sharon´s question of abandoning my wife - NO! What I meant is to wait for her condition to improve and then apply for her to join me.
btw I´m applying as economic class.
