| Subject: PR Denied....Must Leave Immediately. |

I applied for In Canada PR, filled out the necessary forms, paid the necessary fees and waited for more than 8 months to hear anything. I was recently notified and told I was refused and have to leave Canada immediately.
The reason stated was because of an infraction in the States more than 5 years ago. This infraction was a misdemeanor there, but was also told that here it was an indictable offense. It was a domestic disturbance and both parties were arrested. I was beaten by the deputies in the States, (I am American,) and am told now that I have to abandon my family here.
We contacted GIC and was told prior to the application that this would not affect us or our application as it did not result in loss of life and was a misdemeanor. Now we are being told I cannot appeal this and want to know what to do or who to speak with. I have had no incidences with the police prior to this or since. We were told to try to contact the Federal Court of Canada or the MP.
Please help, I don´t want to leave my family and want to become a Resident. Is there a way I can stay here, will they know if I stay here? Can I talk to someone about what happened and get the chance to state my case? If I leave, will I be allowed back into Canada to visit, can I reapply, or will they flag me? Also, GIC mentioned having to take criminal rehabilitation program for me getting beaten. Can someone please help us,or point us in the right direction?????
