| Subject: Police Certificate for the state of Nuevo Leon |

Does anyone know how to get a police certificate for the state of Nuevo Leon(in Mexico) from outside of Mexico?
I am not a mexican but I used to live in Monterrey,NL because of my work.
Now I live in Canada and I am applying for a permanent residence visa.
Then Canadian immigration office asked me to get a police certificate for the state of NL but I don´t know anybody to get a police certificate for me in Mexico.
I appreciate any advice you can give.

Please contact immediately the Mexican Embassy or nearest Consulate. They have procedures on books for this kind of thing. it may not be very easy to get it quick since Mexico is highly corrupt, drug- and violence-riddled nation, but give it a try.

Thank you for a quick response.
Actually I talked to the Mexican embassy and they said there was no way to get the police certificate except I would go to Mexico.....
So I asked them if they could make a letter in English that proves to the Canadian immigration office that I can´t get a police certificate from NL but they said they didn´t do any translation services.....
Again I´m stuck...... I am wondering even if I ask a private translation company to make the letter, the Canadian immigration office would accept it or not.....

Looks like you have to do it in person, but they do issue them...So you HAVE to go and get one.
Or i think you might be able to get someone legal permission to obtain your results. If you have that same person bring all the documents to the office.

Yeah, I checked that website and I even called them but they said I had to go there or maybe someone who has a legal permission can go there and get one for me but I don´t know anybody to do that......

also try and find an investigator in that area, maybe you could hire them to do it for you.
