Subject: Landing in Montreal but going to Toronto |

Hi all,
First of all I´d like to thank everybody who participate in this forum and give valuable advice - I got so much usfull info here! :)
I applied to immigrate to Quebec and I am awaiting for my medical.
Question: If I applied through Quebec, do I have to land in Quebec or I can land anywhere in Canada?
If I have to land in Quebec how long I will have to stay there?
Is there any legal restriction regarding the above?
Thank you

(in reply to: Landing in Montreal but going to Toronto) Hi Ed,
Thanks for your reply.
I like Montreal too - it´s beautiful! But I did a bit of research on a current job market and realised that I will have more opportunities in Toronto.
As for medicals I was in Canadian Embassy in Paris on the 6th of December and they told me that it´ll take about 5 weeks to get my appointment for medical examination. I sent them a fax with enquiry but I guess they are up to walls there. Well, we´ll wait. :)

(in reply to: Landing in Montreal but going to Toronto) If you have a CSQ and applied to emigrate to Quebec, then you MUST land in Quebec.
Quebec will expect you to stay there for a while, get a house, a job etc. After all your skill set is why they accepted you.
But once you´re landed, you are free to go anywhere you choose. :)

Same case (in reply to: Landing in Montreal but going to Toronto) Moving from Quebec to Toronto (in reply to: Immigration)
Hello,
I have a friend who landed in Quebec 3 months ago.
He is working but could not seem to find a job that is related to his profession. He is also getting depressed that a lot of the French speaking citizens are not very nice to him most of the time especially when he tries to understand what they mean. I have a job to offer him here in Toronto.
If he does move, will he have any problems later on? He is a Permanent resident under the Skilled Worker category.
Thank you for your time.
