When you find it necessary to ask anyone for Immigration advice always listen carefully to the replies. If the reply is supported by sections of the Immigration Act, Immigration Regulations or the Immigration Manuals and it is common sense, then the advice is probably, quality advice.

When you feel it necessary to call or attend an immigration Practitioners office make sure you have done some research yourself regarding your problem. Be brief and explain the problem but do not hide any facts. It is better to state that one representative told me my problem could be solved this way but I want a second opinion.

When the representative knows that you have done some research and that you have asked another Immigration Practitioner he/she will know you?re close to retaining someone and that you?re serious about solving your Immigration problem. Most Immigration Practitioner?s offer a free consultations which is limited in time. Present your problem in point form and ask if various options will work then listen intently to the answers.

When the Immigration Practitioner starts asking you question after question it should be obvious that he/she doubts your facts and may believe that you are hiding certain issues. It is always better to be part of the solution then the problem. Many insurmountable appearing problems may have a logical solution to them and unless the Immigration Practitioner knows all the facts, all the solutions cannot be explored.

Any quality Immigration Practitioner who is authorized to represent you in front of an Officer should defend you against the evidence that they have against you and not whether you are in the wrong or right.

When you decide to retain someone make sure they have experience with similar cases, that they can provide references and can show you examples of similar successful cases. One way to gauge their quality of representation is to google their name with the word Immigration behind it. Immigration Practitioner s with fancy clothes and a fancy office does not always equate to a quality representative. You need to confirm who exactly will be assigned your file and what that persons experience is with your type of problem. Immigration Practitioner´s with a great web sites could be just someone that knows how to create a quality web site but look deeper for content in their web site.

Do not hire someone who claims to be an expert! Never accept advice from someone that says, I can solve your problem, just put the money on the desk and I will take care of you. If it sounds exactly what you really deep down wanted to hear and it seems too good to be true, RUN!

Remember a quality Immigration Practitioner will explain your options and support his/her theory with sections of the IRPA, Immigration regulations, manuals and it will appear as logical common sense to you and others.

Retaining a quality representative is worth the time spent researching their qualifications. The price is always negotiable and when you negotiate with knowledge that you are retaining a qualified representative you will sleep better.

Some need no assistance what so ever but if you personally have made your decision to seek assistance make sure you follow the advice above.
