Subject: Family visit
Hi, hopefully someone on here can give us some factual guidance. My daughter was born and raised in the USA; she has a daughter age 15 who was legally adopted by my son-in-law in the summer of 2007 in the US. He was born in Canada and has dual citizenship.
In Nov 2007, he moved them to Alberta to live. She has been told that because the application for immigration papers were not submitted for her and her daughter during the first year, those papers will not be processed for at least six more months. She has also been told that if she and her daughter come to the US to visit her family here, they will not have the legal paperwork to return to Canada where she lives. I have called both embassies and immigration offices and checked their websites but get caught in the loop of recorded information that doesn?t answer these questions. We would VERY much appreciate any facts and suggestions from anyone in the know. Thanks!

It says there is one reply to my questions listed above but it doesn´t show when I go into this screen. Does anybody know why? Thanks.
