I have applied for immigration in April 2008 and New delhi CHC did enquiry at my residence in Feb 2009 and also took my interview. My husband is canadian citizen and he had a criminal record but t is all clear now. pls how much they take to decide on my application. Is there any chance of getting refused??

Hi,
There is no time limit. Important thing is what New Dehli CHC inquiry and what they aks about criminal record and what you or others told them. The criminal record is in Canada or it is in Dahli? You must give them valid proof of clear record. You will not be refused only if they will be satisfied.

You will not be refused only if they will be satisfied that you will not be a problem for Canadian society.

It really depends on the nature of the crime and what you mean by "cleared". Under the immigration regulation, a sponsor is not eligible to be a sponsor if he or she has been convicted under the Criminal Code of Canada of an offence of sexual nature or threat to commit such - and that resulted in bodily harm ... see Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulation 133(1)(e). So if he is deemed not eligible to be a sponsor due to the above, your application may be refused.
