Hi,
I am an permanent immigrant in Canada, and I wanted to invite my parents to come here for a visit this summer. My boyfriend(Canadian citizen) and I are also planning to have an engagement party this summer too, that would be really nice if my parents can present too.
My question is, is it OK that we both write the invitation letter together (we live together but less than a year)? If we mention the engagement, is it necessary to provide any proof/arrangement/reservation to the VO? Since we are thinking of just a small gathering of family members, there isn´t really much ´proof´ that we can provide...we will both sign on the invitation letter, both provide employment letter, etc...would that be sufficient enough?

I assume the parents require visitor visas.
focus on your immigration status and the fact you are employed.You don´t really need to include proof of employment.What I do recommend is that you provide clear itinerary for the parents stay in Canada.Explain the arrangements for their stay.That would make your letter a positive contributing factor in the visa application.It is very important the visa application will address everything else that is required in order to satisfy the visa officer they will be legit visitors who will leave Canada before the authorized period expires.
