Subject: query
We have just finished our medicals and it has been sent. My query is that my daughter has appeared for her XII board exams and is waiting for her results. She has applied in 4 universities in Toronto-Canada. i.e. Ryersons, UofT,Mac Master & York as an International Student. But if all goes well we might go to Canada by July. I just want to know if we should inform the universities about the change from International Student to Resident now or wait till the stamping of the visa. Secondly i also want to know would she have a better chance to get a seat if we apply as residents as she just got a decline from Ryersons as her Final results will be out only in mid June.

Please reply.

Tough choice. I know some universities has a seat quota for foreign and local students. Foreign students pay way higher fees and given that most universities are operating on shoestring budget, international fee payers are good. If she is applying as local, she may have to be on the waitlist because she will be completing with local students. Check with the universities.
